Position: Electronics & Environmental Instrumentation Intern

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (with potential fieldwork in various districts)

Genius Environmental Ltd is seeking a motivated and technically inclined individual to join our team as an Electronics & Environmental Instrumentation Intern. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about electronics, embedded systems, and climate-tech solutions that support air and noise pollution monitoring across Rwanda and the region.

Qualifications:

• Advanced diploma or A0/master’s degree in Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechatronics, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (TVET graduates are encouraged to apply).
• Having pursued technical studies in secondary schools (Electronics and its related combination, or Computer electronics)
• Strong interest or experience in:
• Microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP/NodeMCU)
• Environmental sensors and data acquisition systems
• Programming in C, C++, or C#
• Ability to work on design, integration, and maintenance of custom environmental monitoring instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining low-cost sensor-based environmental monitors.
• Support hardware and software system integration.
• Participate in field installations and technical troubleshooting.
• Document testing procedures and contribute to R&D efforts.
